+ ABOUT DR. TURNER, DVM
Tracy Turner was raised on a small ranch in southwestern Colorado. As a youth, he was active in the local 4-H Horse Program. As a young adult, he apprenticed with a farrier in 1972 and used those skills to help finance his education. From that time on, he has dedicated his life to horses. He received his DVM degree from Colorado State University in 1978, after which he was able to pursue his interest in equine medicine and surgery. He is board certified in Veterinary Surgery (Dipl.ACVS) and Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (Dipl.ACVSMR). He served on the faculty of the University of Illinois, University of Florida and the University of Minnesota. He joined Anoka Equine Clinic in 2004 and started his own practice in 2016 dedicated strictly to Sports Medicine, Lameness, and Surgery. Dr. Turner consults for the USDA Horse Protection, Federation Equestriene Internationale (FEI) and United States Equestrian Federation. Dr. Turner has had the privilege of working at 3 Pan American Games, 1 Olympic Games and 1 World Equestrian Games. He has been selected to work at the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Dr. Turner is a member of several professionl organizations including the American Veteterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Association of Equine Practioners (AAEP), the American Academy of Thermology (AAT), the Minnesota Association of Equine Practitioners (MAEP), the American Farrier's Association (AFA), the American Association of Professional Farriers and the Minnesota Farrier's Association (MnFA). Dr. Turner is a past president of the MAEP and the ATT. Dr. Turner has served as chairman of the AAEP's Farrier Liaison Committee and served on the AAEP's Educational Committee and the AAEP's Foundation Advisory Council. He has been a member on the Board of Directors of the AAT and the AAEP since 2013 and 2017, respectively.
Dr. Turner has been active in the horse community. He served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Central States Dressage and Combined Training Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Horse Council since 2002 and is presently serving his fifth term as President.
He has authored 31 book chapters and written more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and hundreds of non-referred manuscripts, 90% of which are about pain assessment in horses and imaging. In 2004, Dr. Turner was inducted into the International Equine Veterinarians Hall of Fame, which was established in 1997 to honor veterinarians who have contributed to the knowledge and recognition of proper hoof care for horses.
Dr. Turner is married to veterinarian, Dr. Julie Wilson. They have two adult sons, Tarren and Tristan. They are surrounded by other family members, four dogs, six horses, two birds and two cats. In their spare time, Drs. Turner and Wilson love to ride and travel.

+ About Dr. Waldsmith, DVM
Dr. James K. Waldsmith has owned and operated The Equine Center since 1985. Dr. Waldsmith obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1982. Prior to The Equine Center, Dr. Waldsmith worked at two mixed practices in Michigan and was the resident veterinarian at two large Arabian farms on the Central Coast of California.
His professional interests are thermography, sports medicine, rehabilitation, reproduction and preventive medicine. He has made presentations on these subjects as well as some on practice management strategies to the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Equine Sports Medicine. Dr. Waldsmith is board certified in veterinary thermography and a past member of the AAEP’s Task Force on client education and has been a facilitator of the Therapeutic Options Forum.
Dr. Waldsmith is an F.E.I. certified veterinarian in three-day eventing, dressage, show jumping, vaulting and reining. He also regularly participates in advanced training events conducted by the International Society for Equine Locomotor Pathology (I.S.E.L.P) and the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP).
Outside of The Equine Center, he is president of Vetel Diagnostics Inc., which provides digital imaging and software for the veterinary community, and he is a consultant to Prisma Imaging, which is producing robotic computed tomosynthesis (CT) systems for use on horses and other large animals. Dr. Waldsmith owns Sydney, a German Shepherd, Simon the border collie, Judy the scarlet macaw and DogEDog the clinic blood donor gelding.
+ About Barbara (Bobbi) Archambault
Barbara Archambault became an NCTMB board certified human massage therapist in 2003. Instructor of anatomy, pathology, kinesiology, and therapeutic massage at Galen Institute, Licensed equine therapist Kentucky Racing Commission. She has 35 plus years training and competing both for shows and recreational use with Arabians, Morgans and Saddlebreds. Bobbi's method of working with humans and animals is backed up by a formal education using practical techniques.
Being able to employ and understand thermal imaging within my practice offers several benefits. The first being able to detect areas of inflammation quickly and collaborate with the horse's Vet on what protocol is appropriate. It also tracks effectiveness of treatment allowing the owners to have documentation to offer their veterinarian additional information. With proper education and hands on application, the use of thermography and the ability to discern the information will only aid in your overall contribution to the horse’s well-being.

+Richard Armentrout, APF-I, CJF I
Richard Armentrout is a Certified Journeyman Farrier with 16 years of experience. He is also accredited as a Professional Farrier through the Association of Professional Farriers (AAPF).
Richard had the honor of being a 2018 World Equestrian Games farrier. Richard believes continuing education is the key to success in this field. Richard has interned with the renowned International Hall of Fame Farrier, Esco Buff, PhD, APF-I, CF to learn how to successfully treat laminitis and founder. He also is trained in identifying and addressing body imbalances in limb length disparity cases.
Richard has studied equine chiropractic for the lay person with Dr. Kamen in order to better understand body imbalances and has 4+ years of experience as an EquiPulse PEMF Technician.
